Sleepless in Seattle
Hmmm, not exactly. Slept well for all 3 nights cos the days were so fun filled and exciting it saps all the energy from you. Looking back, i've enjoyed this short trip to the max, though there were minor hiccups, i would gladly throw up my hands and say "what a great experience!" Thank God for keeping the 4 of us safe.
This is like a mini road trip cos we rented a car, 3 of them knew how to drive so i was the princess hehe. We were told that the customs would make things difficult for us since we're asians but it went well, guess singapore's really known for its law abiding citizens. The hotel we stayed in was in a dingy location but nonetheless still alright for the price we paid. It was also near the space needle so when we got lost, all we had to do was to locate the space needle and drive towards it. haha but its not so simple all the time.
We met up with beks' friend, Jessica and her bf Justin for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Most of you would have probably heard about this famous restaurant which serves pasta and great cheesecakes (Mummy, you will love it). It was a Saturday evening so there was a looong queue but what's amazing is that they will give you an electronic buzzer so while you wait, you can shop around and they will buzz you when your seat is available. cool! Finally ate my first krispy kreme doughnut. yummy but a tad too sweet.
On Sunday morning, Jess and Justin came to the hotel and brought us to their church. It was good to have a place to worship and give thanks to the Lord. Plus, i liked the sermon too. It was a morning well spent :) Only one week into this summer prog we're already all craving for some char kuay teow, nasi lemak, laksa, chicken rice haha. So, Jess and Justin brought us to Chinatown seattle for some chinese food at malay satay hut. It was not bad, the hor fun was rather authentic. In the US, malay cuisine consists of all the various chinese food eg laksa etc and of course the ironic Singapore Fried Noodles, which im sure all of us native Singaporeans have never heard of.
Watching movie in the states is ex!! 8.50usd for a student priced ticket! ughs. Catched Superman Returns. What's interesting is that cinemas there are all free seating so when we went in at 7 for the 730 show, we had to make our way to the front few rows :(
Monday 3/7 was spent shopping at a factory outlet. It has about 100 shops so i went crazy haha.
Amidst all the shopping, i do miss my family. Dad and Mum, how come you both didnt reply the last msg i sent you?? you can send msges to me its free! I can receive messages from ppl in sg so i think yours should come through too.
And to my sponge Yu, take care in Switz! Wonder if you can go skiing?? leave a comment haha.
